wow...its been one hell of a half year so far.So whats going on you ask? well,here's the latest...

As a lot of you know i'm currently working at my sister's bistro and i can assure you its not a permanent career choice for me..but my dad "insists" other wise.And as i did my work which i started in March, i slowly became that which people will slowly become and all artist do not want to be..a working stiff/zombie.Going through the routine everyday and not enjoying it much.Yup,i so hate my job but i need the job and the cash..you'll see why later..my life there is spent doing work and just surfing the internet during my break coz hey,i'm too tired to be doing anything else.

Its only recently after some personal problems when i wanted to quit that i had one of those talks with my dad that i realized i had a dream once,alot of people say its unrealistic and in Singapore,no one really respects it coz we don't have the outlet for it. To us or them, they care only if you have paper qualifications like a degree or a Masters in illustration or whatnot.Forget experience and what you did before.Its a sad life in Singapore.What i want to be is a comic book artist/illustrator. Its something i forgot while life weighed down on me and i never had the courage to do.But since being with my current girlfriend and her sister(who in her own right is an awesome awesome artist) has been giving me a lot of encouragement and pushing me to get art out and put it here.The result so far is the 4 i recently posted up.But thats the spark i think that gave me the small courage to want to pursue my dreams.

For me,this will be the first step of a very big journey. I'm now in the process of totally redoing my portfolio to the standards where i'll be able to show it to publishers. Now comes the money part which i'm slaving away for at my job,i plan to get my ass to the US next year for SDCC 2012 (assuming the world doesn't end but if it does,hey,i'll die in a place i love filled doing what i love) for 2 weeks,not just to visit and be with my girlfriend and her sis but to also show publishers my work and also to get critiqued by them and artists.I know its going to be a blow to the ego (my drawing isn't as good yet) but i NEED to know where i'm going right or wrong on my drawings and portfolio. Another reason is to see how i feel about moving there and basing myself there permanently..yup, i'm tentatively planning to move there a year later after i get back.

So,to everyone...wish me luck and if you pray,keep me in yours. Even thinking about this scares me as hell ,not to mention when i have to tell my parents the news in 2012,but i need to pursue this.I love to draw too much to give it up and God has given me a talent to do it,i can't waste it or rather,i don't want to waste it.
